Crochet Braids Hair Extensions
The Crochet Braid Hair Extensions consist of hair that is made from a synthetic fibre that imitates the look of natural hair that is then crocheted into your braided hair.
Crochet braids are a great protective styling option for people wanting to keep their natural hair as it is. You can switch up your hair colour, length, texture, and style without compromising your natural curl pattern. You can still quickly get to your scalp and keep it clean when you're shampooing—and, even better, crochet braids don't require heat styling, which is always a win if you're trying to retain length.
How long does it take to install crochet braids?
You can expect to spend anywhere between 90 minutes to three hours in the salon chair when getting a crochet hairstyle.
How many packs of hair do I need for a full head of crochet?
The amount of hair you need depends on the exact look you want to achieve. Typically, this can be between three to six packs, depending on the thickness you are wanting to achieve.
How long do crochet braids last?
Typically crochet braids last between six weeks to seven weeks. Even though you might be tempted to leave your crochet braids in even longer, please don't—keeping your braids in too long can lead to some serious damage due to the hair growing out. If left too long the braid can become matted.
It is recommended once you have installed your crochet braids hair to book a 4 week maintenance check up - this will allow your hairdresser to asses your hair , remove any matting from the back area, add any additional pieces of hair that may be needed to freshen up the hairline and trim any matted ends

Night maintenance is key to preserving crochet braids. Wrapping or covering your hair in a silk or satin bonnet before you go to bed to reduce any friction in your sleep and to maintain moisture in the hair.
How do I wash my crochet braids?
Washing your Crochet hair is very important to keep clean and fresh and you need to use the correct products. Regular cleaning will keep your hair and scalp healthy and in good condition.
PLEASE NOTE - DO NOT WASH YOUR SYNTHETIC CROCHET HAIR IN HOT WATER (as this will change the texture of the curl by slightly melting the fibre. It will also create matting of the curl due to the hair becoming mattered and stuck)

Do crochet braids damage your hair?
Crochet braids are considered a protective hairstyle for a reason. But even though they don't damage your hair, it's all about proper maintenance and making sure your hair is healthy before it's braided down. Using a gentle shampoo , deep conditioning treatments, use a scalp tonic or oil and regular upkeep will keep your head and natural hair in the best condition. Most importantly, don't plan on leaving your crochet hairstyle in for longer than six weeks, which can cause time-consuming pains like hair matting.
